Almost everyone enjoys visiting restaurants, receiving professionally made food prepared and brought to you, it’s practically a luxury. The food is often better than anything you could prepare yourself at home, which can often be a little disappointing when you make your own meals and compare the two, so why not consider becoming a chef yourself and improving your skills? Another option for training would be to sign up on a study course at either a further education college or even a chef training school which can be geared more towards professional kitchens. For those who are older than 25 years of age, you could still take the NVQ too, however you would need to have this funded in a different way as the government scheme is meant for young starters. Finally, it’s always good to keep in mind that if you have the skills and abilities, qualifications aren’t always needed, you can start at a lower position in the kitchen and build your way up to the top.
